    I haven’t been able to find the answer to this ANYWHERE or see anybody do this in tutorial videos.

    But once you have trimmed your comp to your work area in AE CS3, how do you then untrim from the work area so you can see your entire timeline encompassing the full length of the video footage. This is killing me!

    I can move forward past the trimmed work area, but I cannot get back to the very beginning of my footage for the life of me.

    Any help?

    You could just expand your composition settings to include more time. then drag layer to the right, and pull out its left side more. shift + drag will snap it like a magnet.
