I am trying to clean up some old VHS tapes and put them on DVD. Is there a mask/filter or something that will clean up the images? Does anyone have any suggestions about the best way to do this?

How are you getting the VHS into your mac? The canopus analogue to DV box has some noise reductions built into it, and a time base corrector too, which I’m told can help.

I’m using the Canopus ADVC300 to capture to FCE. It does a very nice job, but I still have some artifacts in the frames that I would like to get rid of. I don’t know if it can be done, so I thought I’d ask.

Aleric, can you post up an image so we can see what you’re talking about. It will make it easier to point you in the right direction.
