i have a text that has to disintegrate as how a woolen sweater would when you start pulling from one end.

here is what i have dome so far”
used the text as form particles and have a layer (precomped text to simulate disappearing strings from bottom to top, using a 3dstroke in a perpetual “s” mask like) as its color and alpha layer map.

this somewhat is giving the illusion, however it could be better if:

    1. i could manage to give a pinching jerk everytime a particle disappears as pulled by the thread – (streching the text object from the contact point for a fraction)
    2. instead of hand animating the thread if i could somewhow locate the animated 3Dstroke “end point” everyframe and parent one end of the thread to that point.

i hope i was able to explain myself. i would indeed appreciate any help!

    thanks
    D.

    Hi Manojit,

I wondered if you ever made progress with this? I need the opposite – hair strands weaving into text (for movie titles), i.e. something along your lines but backward. Would be great to hear how far you got..

    Best,
    Alex
