Womble to Procoder
Some kind friends have sent me a DVD from my wedding and I would like to incorporate some of it into my main wedding footage. (DVD). Just basic cuts.
At present I edit the MPEG footage in vegas then save as ‘EDL text file[*txt]’.
Open this file in edl2wbp and I can then open the.wbp (womble) file in TMPGEnc to rencode to MPEG2 (without too much quality loss).I feel that Procoder can produce a better encode than TMPGEnc but Procoder cant import .wbp (womble project files.)
Is my best option to stick with the TMPGEnc encoding or is there any way I can use Procoder to produce a better re-encode of the MPEG2 file?

This workflow doesn’t make any sense. Just render in Vegas 7 or Vegas Pro 8 and it will NOT render but rather “stitch” the MPEG file back together with no re-encoding at all which preserves the original quality. Vegas calls this “smart rendering”. As long as the output MPEG format matches the input format, it will copy frames instead of rendering.
If you don’t have Vegas Pro then use Womble and it will stitch the file for you. Again, no need to use ProCoder because there is no need to re-encode just cuts.
