Wolverine Open Credits effect?? Anyone

Hey has anyone seen the new Wolverine movie –Love the open credits -can anyone explain how this is done -I just watched the movie NOTORIOUS and the DVD menu loop is like this as well or I have seen other stuff where they break the still apart and each object is moving in 3d space.

Any tutorials out there

What was great about the Wolverine freeze frames was a great grungy dirt texture blended into the freeze frames… (as its own 3d layer)
(also available from Andrew Kramer Grunge effects) or you could make your own grunge using Fractal noise…
