I’ve just had a client who’s wanting delivery in Windows Media 7. Its some big corporate job, so obviously some of their PCs are still steam driven, which is presumably why they want such an old codec.

But does anyone know the best way of making a WMV7 file? I’ve got Flip4Mac but thats only WMV9. Is there any way of making a v7 compatible file?

Autodesk Cleaner 6.5 makes WMV 7.

Sorenson Squeeze does it too, doesn’t it?

I have Squeeze 4.5.6 and it only lists WM9 and WM9 Advanced in the codec window.

I use Cleaner for WMV7 also.

Does your client know that Windows Media Player 7.1 can play WMV9 files?
Microsoft’s auto update takes care of that (unless they’ve turned it off . . . then they can do it manually).
That should cover most computers back to antiquity.

    Nope. WM9 and WM9 Advanced.
