  • WMV render trims the movie (OS X)

Posted by Ace Billet on May 30, 2005 at 6:05 pm

Every time I render out a comp to Windows Media (AE 6.5 preset)
the movie is trimmed on the end, about 1 – 2 seconds.

Needless to say it’s not a Work Area issue.

So far I’ve been using cleaner to create decent WMV, but I’m sure there’s
a logical explanation within AE ..

    cheers

Weird. Maybe it’s in your compression keyframe settings, where WM is chopping off the segment after the last keyframe?

    Hope that helps,
    Steve

I seem to remember having a problem like this at one point, but since switching to rendering WMV on the Windows box, I, er, haven’t had that problem.

Can you render to the Animation codec on OSX, then send the Anim movie to a Win AE box for compression to WMV?

    HTH,
    Steve

No Windows boxes around here, Steve.
But as said above, I’ll probably just keep using Cleaner for WMV exports.

    thanks anyway.

    Cheers

I’ve run into the same problem. What I do when I need to render a WMF is to create new comp for Windows Media File render, and add 3 seconds to the timeline.
