I am running AE 6.5 on a P4 w/ 1.5 GB RAM 440GB hard drive. I recently had to format my system drive and reinstall everything. When I reinstalled AE it started coming up with the error message that AE can’t load WMImport.AEX. Anyone know what to do? I have already tried reinstalling AE 6.5 and 6.0.

    Please Help

I have the same problem after doing an XP install-repair! I changed out my motherboard, and of course XP thinks it’s in a different machine, so I had to install-repair XP.

I got nearly everything back, except that AE6.5 gives me the same error you describe. It’s really irksome!!

If I delete the bad file, or just acknowledge the error, will it impact the ability to import/export AVI files?

I’d really like to solve this instead!

    Thanks

Ok, so here’s what I figured out. When my machine was giving me that error I also couldn’t use any of the AE or third party plug ins. I finally ended up doing a full uninstall and reinstalling AE. Now I don’t have that problem anymore.

    Good Luck,

    Dave
