WM in Compressor?
Posted by Adair Simon on March 25, 2009 at 1:59 pmI made a QT file in FCP and took it into Compressor to make a WM file. I can’t find the WM setting. What is it called?

March 25, 2009 at 2:33 pmEncoding for Windows Media isn’t included with Quicktime. You need third party software to make WMV files. I use Flip 4 Mac Pro. Works well for the most part.

My apologies in advance for stupidity.
I have Flip4Mac and when I click on the green button QT Player opens up at the top of the screen. It seems that everything is trying to go from WM to QT instead of the other way around.Adair

March 26, 2009 at 7:01 pmThe Flip encoder is $50, the playback tool is free. The full featured product deal FlipStudio is $200, last time I looked, a year or more ago.
Ask your cleints wht they REALLY need. You can probably give them MP4 or H264 files that will opne in Flash. Silverlight offers additional playback compatibility.
