Wizard of Oz Fire effect
Posted by Edward Barfield on August 9, 2008 at 3:49 pmIs there any way to get decent fire effect, as in the Wizard of Oz when the Wizard was talking to Dorothy, et al, using only AE’s effects package? (AE 7.0)

The built in generators are great, and if you can get away with those so much the better.
There is a plugin by Trapcode called Form. I was planning to try it out this weekend, but I am having so many problems with Zaxwerks I just won’t have time. But from the website it looks and sounds powerful, and I think it can do what you need it to.

it’s not relly good quality fire, but thats what you can do with after effects. The bast fires are always the reals ones. You can some at http://www.detonationfilms.com .

August 11, 2008 at 11:47 amThanks. I found a project file I downloaded off the Adobe site which is decent, but not what I really want. The fire in Wizard of Oz is sorta rolling balls of fire going upward.

August 11, 2008 at 6:44 pmYou might find something under the WunderTouch Particle Illusion libraries that can help you… Its a decent particle program that comes with tons of preset effects.
