  • without precomping, multiple layers define alpha of Solid?

gah, trying to remember how to do this:

I want 3 separate animated Shape layers to define the alpha of a fourth Solid layer, and I’d prefer to do so without precomping.

I thought I could do it w/Stencil alpha or Silhouette alpha, but I seem to be mistaken.

I’m thinking this is fairly simple, and i’ve just disremembered how to do it. >8^(

    Thanks for any help!

One method would be to use the preserve underlying transparency toggle. It’s the little “T”, between Mode and Track Matte. You would set your solid above your solids and toggle it. It’s not going to work if you have a full layer somewhere below the solid though.

Here’s an example file, if you found what I said unclear: 6621_preserveunderlyingtransparency.aep.zip
