  wipe with Advanced Lightning

  I am trying to make Adv. Lightning into a wipe. I have the lightning start at one side of the screen and wipe across to the next. When it goes across, it reveals an object. I ve tried to use a linear wipe underneath the lightning, but the lightning is moving and is jagged, where as the linear wipe is, well, linear. Any ideas on how to make this work?
