    Hello all,

So I’m trying to create a wipe transition, where a person walking across the frame in one shot “wipes” to the layer underneath…I tried searching for a tutorial but unfortunately lack the technical vocabulary to describe what I’m looking for.

Can anyone point me to a tutorial, or let me know what this effect is referred to? Hopefully my description makes sense. Thanks!

If your person is separate from the footage (either through keying or rotoscoping), you could just animate a mask on Footage 1 to reveal footage 2.

    Man
    Footage 1
    Footage 2

If your person’s not cut out yet and you’ve already shot it, you will need to use rotoscoping. This link has tons of resourses on Rotoscoping.
