  • WinDVD stalls on playback

I have tried playing back a disk (on WinDVD) that was burnt on a Panasonic DVD recorder and the menu wasn’t recognised (but WMP had no problem). I then played the individual VOB file but found after a while that it would slow down and stall then rapidly pick back up to where it left off, all at regular intervals. I thought the disk maybe slow so moved the VOB to the HDD, still the same.

The clip was a home movie with typical noise and movement but I gather that the Panasonic recorder uses CBR for encoding. What can I do to fix it, just rip the file and crunch it down some more?

    Cheers
