April 28, 2005 at 11:19 pmSee the BMD web site for minimum requirements.
A single P4 3GHz is OK for non-HD, but you need to have a fast enough disk subsystem and a high performance motherboard, it’s all on their web site.
If you follow their specs, it WILL work.

April 29, 2005 at 5:15 amI’ve been working on a :
Single P4 3,2
Supermicro mobo
2Gb Ram
2x200Gb Hard Disk on Raid 0
Silicon Image SATA Controlerand I can capture without any problem 8bit/10bit SDI. I’m curently working with Music Videos and the rushes are about 2 hours, so for a 60min 10bit capture everything seems to work Perfect!

April 29, 2005 at 5:50 amYep, I’ve got a 3.2 Prescott and can capture 2+ hours without a dropped frame. I do have a 10-disc U320 array though.

April 29, 2005 at 1:59 pm10-disc U320… Snif! My P4 3.2E only sees a measly 3-drive WD Raptor 10K SATA RAID (+ a ditto system drive). Supermicro mobo, 2GB Corsair CAS 2-2-2 RAM.
Always captured in 10-bit and always perfectly, 45-60 minutes each time.
It is really really important, for 10-bit uncompressed especially, to follow BMD’s hardware specs. Don’t use desktop mobos, slower drives, etc. Many have tried…
