I run Avid DS on w7 it has had RED support as long as anyone has, so the lack of RED/ Alexa etc is not a real concern, only fears that reality proves to be groundless…
A w7 -or- a more cost efficent Linux version would my choice, the fear i have is the VERY real posssibility that the MacPro line gets “X”‘d… everything is pointing to that, making BMD’s investment in porting to OSX and developing XML support a massive waste of resources, and my investment in a MacPro a truly stupid decision leading to a dead end

July 19, 2011 at 2:49 pmi think it would be more sensible on part of osx to sell their software as windows does and allow people use any hardware they want, by doing this mac can increase the say in the market as well as the customers will also be happy as they can choose their own hardware with out thinking of the limitation the mac has at present.mac can still be selling their macpros and all their software packs .
i think it could be a rocking solution for all (and no more brains into hackintosh).prathvish hegde
