I may be missing something and I certainly hope I am. I’m finally editing some HD content (720p 30fps) with my Blackmagic card for the first time. I’m noticing that I’m not getting automagic downconvert through Premiere to my NTSC broadcast monitor. Isn’t that supposed to happen? In the Decklink control panel HD to SD lettorbox 16:9 is selected but I’m only getting a scrambled HD signal on my NTSC Monitor. I also notice that “downconvert to HD to SD” is grayed out in the control panel. I further notice that there is only explicit mention of real time downconvert made on the Blackmagic site for OSX machines. I’m on Windows XP and using the Blackmagic setup. Is there also a way to scale down the output image in Combustion when working at HD? MAybe I have to get an HD monitor…..

    Thanks.

    Hi Dean,

what version of drivers do you have? We do have down conversion on Windows with our latest driver but not for 720p30. We support 720p59.94 to NTSC, 1080i59.94 to NTSC and 1080i50 to PAL.

    regards
