I don’t know if anyone from the company, or elsewhere, can help with this. I got the Windows 10 Creators Update today and now my Particle Illusions are destroyed! There is a big red X across the work area that sadly renders out in the output too. I have tried both OpenGL and software render modes with the same result.

Is there any way to get a patch issued to fix this?

    Paul,

Unfortunately it seems that GenArts (Now Boris) do not frequent this forum much anymore. You would have to contact GenArts at the following website https://support.genarts.com/Tickets/Submit/RenderForm/2 to create a ticket. Hopefully they can help you or point you in the right direction. As far as I know, there have been no updates for many years and I do not see anything coming from GenArts as they seem to have forgotten about this great program.

If you can go back to Windows 10 Build 1607 until GenArts fixes something, that may be your only choice. Microsoft seems to only give you 10 days now or something to go back to the previous build of Windows 10. I am staying with Windows 7 x64 until 2020.

    Good Luck.

    Paul,

Did you get a response back from GenArts – now (BorisFX)?

    Just wondering.

    Hi.

Sorry for the delay in replying. Yes, I did get a reply. Boris FX told me that they have been busy working on merging the two companies together and acquiring the software. They said that all they can say for now is that they are aware of the situation Particle Illusions is in, they aren’t happy about it, and they hope to implement a new plan for future development on the software in the near future.

So perhaps there is a ray of light here…?

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for the update you posted! I really really hope that BorisFX WILL take ParticleIllusion back to greatness again. Yes, this does sound promising and I hope it comes true.

    Thanks for letting us know.

This happened for me too – and a will reinstall, deregister, reinstall and reregister fixed it fine.
