win service pack 2
Posted by Tom Maloney on October 1, 2005 at 12:54 amI know I have seen posts on this , can’t find them. Going to install Premiere 1.5 on a machine running service pack 2. Is there anything I have to do for this ? Seems I read something a while back on doing this
thanks all

October 1, 2005 at 1:30 amThere used to be issues when SP2 was first released. Haven’t seen any issue lately.

October 2, 2005 at 4:09 pmHi Tom,
There were some updates that needed to be applied (adobe media encoder, Ect…). if you recently aquiret the Premiere Pro CD you might have the updated files. Check out the update page at adobe to see if anything is needed.
As for hard drives, Maxtor drives have been rock solid for me (Maxtor drive, generic external case).
Hope this helps,

October 3, 2005 at 2:25 pmI’d hedge my bets against self made enclosures. We had run through test for generic enclosure with a hard drive and failed to find one that could stand up to heavy daily use. Either the USB port would wear out, or the controller in the box would fail, or the power supply wasn’t up to snuff. I heavily recommend either a Lacie drive or Seagate drive. Lacie’s drives have been consistently crash free for us, and they look slick to boot.
