  • Will the Lenovo W520 handle CS4 and 5?

Posted by Jack Rusak on August 6, 2011 at 3:42 am

Desktop is giving up the ghost and I want to replace it with a laptop, been using FCP with a MacBook Pro (???)so I can know I can live it .

My Question is will the Lenovo ThinkPad W520 with the Quadra 1000m card work well… I see that Adobe only certifies the 2000m and up for CS5

    Thanks, JR

    Hi guys,
I am also interested in what other gfx cards are mercury accelerated… it seems some people have been using cards that are not on the list of approved cards and are getting excellent speeds…
it would be good to know what other nvidia cards work!

    cheers
    Mark.

Is there a reason you’re not going for the Quadro 2000m on W520? (I thought it was an option.)

I haven’t heard of anyone trying hardware accelerated MPE on the 1000m. Its 96 Cuda cores are on the low end, but that doesn’t mean it won’t work.

Yes, like to buy from BH and that’s the only configuration they have… even in a “turnkey” app.
Seemed odd that they would be basing a turnkey on an unsupported device.

Are they cheaper than Lenovo direct?

No, but I found the direct website a nightmare to try and use. On my computer a least, it seemed to be constantly refreshing and I wasn’t able to input my selectiosn

I had the same problem with the Lenovo website; horrible.
