  • Will service pack 2 be more harm than good ? w/ PP 1.5

    Hello

My PC works well w/o SP2 installed, I currently have 2 issues that involve my graphics card. ATI all in wonder 128 pro.

I received and error message that said, installing SP2 might help … might help, or kill my machine….

    1) the darn graphics card does not want to let me view anything on my 2nd monitor (tv).

    2) I would really like PP v1.5 to let me “push up” my preview video window to the tv. I had it working in P 6.5, but can not seem to get it to work in 1.5

I have a bit of detail in my profile, what might be missing

    MB gigabit GA-8IPE1000 Pro / 865intel chip
    TV, standard with composite in
    monitor, vga flat panel

If anybody has had these issues, I know it must be the card ?? I could use some help. Or any other thoughts would also be great.

    thanks for your assistance

[markp_92647] “1) the darn graphics card does not want to let me view anything on my 2nd monitor (tv).”

Try reinstalling the graphics card drivers or take a look at the manufacturer’s site.

[markp_92647] “2) I would really like PP v1.5 to let me “push up” my preview video window to the tv. I had it working in P 6.5, but can not seem to get it to work in 1.5″

Not sure what you mean by “push up”. Do you mean increase the resolution or something else?

When I first installed SP2 over my existing setup, my system had a numerous amount of problems and I deleted it immediately. However, after I reformatted the system and installed SP2 immediately after installation, I have not had any problems.

Thank you for the feedback. When I say push up. I really mean, sorry for my lame way of stating this earlier. To send my video preview, the box on the right upper corner, up to the tv to view it in full screen as I edit. Im really hesitant to format and install, it just takes so long.

any additional help or other replies would me great. Thank you for your time.

Ah. Well, if you upgraded to SP2 and are experiencing the output problem, then you are not the only one. Numerous people that are using PPRO with SP2 have reported this problem. However, there is no specific solution to this problem as of yet. But, to preview your work on an external monitor, simply use a DV camcorder with an anolog output and connect it to your TV.

    Example:
Computer —>(FireWire) —> DV Deck (VCR Mode) —>(analog out) TV
