Hello, I downloaded the free version of Resolve but after I installed it and tried to open it, it said I did not have a licenced dongle attached. Why do I need that? This is supposed to be the free version. I am trying to run it on my Dell M6600 laptop running an i7 2820 processor, 16 gig of RAM and Nvidia 3000m cuda card. Will this work? Thanks.

Yes, I went to the DaVinci page and clicked on the link for Resolve lite for Windows. I tried it twice.

This is a bit scary, but I just downloaded 9.1.3 for my Sony VAIO WinPro7, and it works just fine. It sees my Tangent WAVE, etc. I just might use this laptop for demos…

I think you must have the full version. Please go to the support web site and download the Lite version and try again. The file will explicitly saw Lite.

Sounds like the laptop should suffice for basic resolve lite duties/learning.

@Joseph: I also had resolve installed on an old Sony laptop that barely met the minimum requirements… 8gb GT425M 1st gen i7. Would play back HD media fine, but the minute I thew a color correction at it, it would chug… Just bought a new top of the line Lenovo y500 with dual GT650’s and it’s actually quite workable… Except for monitoring. Might try a USB Intensity at it just for fun… 🙂
