Will render SD but not HD
I’ve compiled a Veg file for a 4 minute wedding video that will render without problems in SD. When trying to render to HD in *.mp4 (resolution 1280×720), the mpeg-2 bluray HDV 1440 template, or quicktime 1920 (and I have probably tried others over the past two days), Vegas says an error has occured and the reason could not be determined. Over, and over again. Machine specs as follows:

XP32So I did a complete save and copied onto hard drive of following machine:

same problems.It will render fine to SD on ANY of the workstations with the mpeg-2 DVD arch wide template, but will not render to anything HD.
My project properties are set at 1440×1080, progressive (recorded with XH-A1 in 30p originally) 8-bit.I used several filters but the most common where-
sony levels
sony color corrector
sony 2nd color corrector
Aav6cc (from vasst download page version .95)
Magic Bullet Looks (latest version)
track motion and event pan/crops as needed
smart smoother and dynamic noise reduction from mike crash.I’ve turned threads to 1, dynamic RAM down to 64, and went into properties to check AVI2 box and disable multi processor rendering (normally unchecked).
The crash point may be the same, but after turning filters on or off the crash point will change. Sometimes earlier in the timeline sometimes later.
Help…
So when is the Scarlett coming out again 2009, 2010, 2011…

If you are using high quality picture files, that may be part of your problem coupled with fx and filters. All of these things together can cause your page file usage to climb and eventually tap out ending in error.
If you have high quality pictures, try reducing the size to just a little over your project settings (as far as you are zooming in on pan/crop).
Have you tried encoding to Cineform Avi first before going to M2T files? I would try that. I also would try replacing all the m2t files in the project media with cineform avi intermediates (you can do this easily with Vasst Ultimate S pro- free trial and I think you can do it with Excalibur by jetdv). These should be less intensive especially if you resize your pictures (if you have any). Also, png files are what I would recommend over other formats.

Thanks so much for the reply j Razz. No pictures in the video. I guess I can render to Cineform, but it’s 30 plus clips that total over 1 hr of video (we do weddings). I’ll look into Ultimate S or Excaliber. Preference of the two???
So when is the Scarlett coming out again 2009, 2010, 2011…

I looked again at your specs and it would be hard to max out ram with Vista 64 and 8 gigs. I am leaning towards it being one of your filters/fx.
I installed a plugin pack (I don’t remember which one) several years ago and used the black and white plugin from it. That plugin caused it to crash. Luckily it was at the beginning of my project so troubleshooting wasn’t too time consuming. I removed it and replaced it with a standard b/w plugin and no problems. You might want to take a look there.
