  Will Premiere 6 recognize Firewire devices?

  I have loaded Premiere 6 onto a laptop at a client’s location… trying to get them a way of digitizing miniDV footage from their camcorder. I’ve been through the set up functions, but since I am not that familiar with Premiere, this could all be user issues. My immediate question, knowing how old Premiere 6 is… will it recognize firewire? Do I need to upgrade?
