    Will PCI X work in a PCIe machine?

    I have a dual 2Ghz G5. I plan on upgrading machine to a Mac Pro shortly but in the meantime I need to get a project out of my G5. I am looking at the HD Extreme or Pro. Correct me if I am wrong but the new MBPs use PCIe. So if I get a PCIe card will it work in my aging G5?

    Hi Scott,

    They are totally different. PCIe cards will not work in PCI-X slots, and vice versa.
