January 21, 2008 at 2:21 amI’ll do it for a thousand 🙂
Have you tried deleting all the peak files? These should be in your “project name” > Media cache (all .pk files). This can happen when complex projects run out of memory, thus get corrupt. If that’s not the issue let us know and we eill go down the line in possible issues.
Premiere will index the files again, if it doesn’t, those weren’t the right ones.

January 21, 2008 at 3:41 pmthanks for the advice. cant swing a grand but a hundred bucks I have…lol….. I have tried that to no avail. Is it possible that you could call me and we can discuss these issues with me at the system. It might be that I am not clearing things out right. I have 4 hard drives and I am moving things around all the time
I will be back in my office after 3:00 today( Texas time) if you can call me.Thanks for your help

January 21, 2008 at 10:05 pmI’m actually on a production and can’t keep my phone around because of interferences. But you can post here, I’ll be online most of the day, just doing inteviews every couple of hours 🙂
Anyway, WIFI is all I have.
So all your files are audio AND video, or is the audio separate?
After you deleted the peak files, did Premiere generate new ones? Did it show a progress bar at the lower right bottom ?

January 22, 2008 at 4:30 pmokay this is what happens…I will build a project on E,D or F drive, I have a 500GB ext hard drive for storage.
after I build the timeline, drop in narration and music, do all my transistions, bascly finish it, I close it out. The next day when I return to check over the project, tweek here and there…the audio is gone. On the timeline you see all the blocks audio and video, but all the audio boxs are like…empty. I have checked everything I know to check. Then last week I had a project that when I opened it the next day all my video transistions had disaperaed( sorry, my spelling sux)
I am still baffeled and, reluctent to do any new work unless I turn key it in one setingYes, I have also tried at the end, making a copy, placing it as a new project on another HD…sometimes this works
signed …..help me!

January 22, 2008 at 10:18 pmThat’s certainely not something you should see happen TWICE. I have yet to see it happen once.
So, again, are the video files and audio files separate in your project, or are these simply files as you would get them off the camera? Anyway to post a screen cap of your timeline?
If they are the all in one audio and video type, then I’ll have to go back to that .pk file issue, since otherwise your video files wouldn’t work either. Did it ver ask you to relink any files before that happened?

January 23, 2008 at 3:07 amI’ve had this a couple of times.
Try unlinking then relinking your clips.
Worked for me but don’t know why it happens.

January 24, 2008 at 10:07 pmMy bet is on the audio files not being linked, its also prob not in the project folder, but on a diff drive.. Try putting all assets on the same drive – re-link after if necessary.
