  • Will I have any problems using AE with El Capitan?

I’ve been using Lion on my IMac while running AE-CS6. Now I need to upgrade to El Capitan so I can update Safari. Will going to el Capitan cause any issues with After Effects? Is there anything I need to know?
    Thanks
    Bill

CS6 needs to be updated to 11.0.4 to run on Mavericks or later. Motion Sketch will not work. There will be a little hiccup in the RAM preview, but once the RAM preview loops it will be fine. Other than that, there aren’t many issues running CS6 on 10.11.x

Here is Adobe’s word on the matter: https://blogs.adobe.com/aftereffects/2015/09/after-effects-ready-for-mac-os-x-v10-11-el-capitan.html

I’ve run into several issues in CS6 on El Capitan. Creative Cloud apps work better, but still some bugs. If you don’t need to upgrade, I would hold off. I find El Capitan incredibly buggy, even outside of Adobe products.
