    Hi Nick,

Absolutely. You will need FCP5 and the DeckLink v5 drivers to support HDV, and then you will have HDV real-time monitoring from all DeckLink HD series cards.

Will we be able to edit HDV material in FCP5 with downconverted output through a DeckLInk card? Will this be smooth or will it be too demanding for current Macs?

    Hi Brian,

I’m not sure if software downconversion of HDV is possible but we’ll definitely check it out. The DeckLink HD Pro 4:4:4 card can perform hardware downconversion of pretty much anything including JPEG so I expect it will work with HDV. I’m not sure that anyone has tested this but we will do so before the drivers ship.
