April 7, 2005 at 8:35 pmjust curious as to Why would you wnat to do that anyways? The HD card will do SD. if your looking for maybe analog output or something you could get a converter (sure it’s not as cheap as a decklink but definatly cheaper that an extra G5 to use it in.)

April 7, 2005 at 8:45 pmSo that I could get analog inputs from my beta sp deck into the same computer. I know that I can get analog converters, but, as you said, they are a little bit more. Besides, then I would have two cards as opposed to one, if I needed it. But, if it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work.
Anybody have a recommendation on analog/digital converters?

I have the same situation. I have a HDpro card in my G5 and occasionaly need to capture from Beta. With the unknown status of the multibridge I went with the Miranda VTR-100. The VTR-100 attaches to the back of the Beta SP deck and then converts the component signal to sdi. It will convert your audio to AES or it can actually mux it together with the SDI signal. The Miranda performs the reverse operation so you can record to Beta as well. While this is expensive ($4500-5000) it does work.
Thanks,
Bryan
