Will CS5.5.2 projects open in CS5.5?
Posted by Patrick Simpson on May 30, 2012 at 4:12 pmI know that PP CS5.5 can’t open CS6 projects; however, I’m looking to update from 5.5 to 5.5.2 and I need to make sure that my coworkers still on 5.5.0 will still be able to open the 5.5.2 projects.

May 30, 2012 at 5:36 pmA better question would be, why don’t your coworkers update to 5.5.2?

May 30, 2012 at 6:19 pmYou’re right. It’s just that you never know when you’re going to run into someone who hasn’t update yet and we need things to just work.

June 1, 2012 at 1:01 pmI frequently work between two machines, one running CS5 and one running CS5.5. They are cross-compatible: I can open a CS5.5 project in CS5 and vice-versa. A dialog will pop up noting that the project was created in a different version, and asking you to save a copy under a new filename.
I’d be surprised if 5.5.2 to 5.5.0 didn’t work similarly, if it even makes a fuss about it at all.

But why haven’t your coworkers installed these important bug-fix updates?

June 13, 2012 at 1:29 amOur company has our computers locked down pretty tightly for security as far as updates – so I’m actually still on 5.5.0 myself.
