Will 2-Pass encoding prevent random glitches? (SVP 11 – Example of glitch)
Hello,
I make large HD concert multicam mixes for fun (mostly youtube – but fan DVDs too). I’ve rendered my most recent project twice and both times had one or two really minor glitches in different places and not on transitions. It could be a resource or codec issue but I haven’t changed anything. The project does have some really large AVI files in these areas….
Anyway here’s example of the most recent glitch I didn’t catch prior to uploading this test version to youtube. (Edit: Tried to link to the exact times but the embed here won’t skip. One is at 2hrs 9m 4sec and the other is at 2hr 12m 55s)

My first render didn’t have glitches at the above spots but I did find one that looked like the first link here at a different spot. I guess my question is will using two pass (instead of one – Mainconcept 1280×720 29.970 10 high and 7 average) prevent these rare but random glitches from popping up? There are a couple really large sources files in that section….so perhaps that’s the issue. I’m just hoping if I use two pass it’ll pick up on a glitch on one pass and correct it. I’ve always used single pass w/ high bitrates.
Any insight?
