will 13 hours of continuous taping hurt a GL2?
I’m applying for a job that entails 13 hours of literally continuous recording with just enough break to swap tapes. Since I’ll be using a shiny new GL2 I just wanted to to know what kind of wear and tear that will put on the tape transport mechanism. The shoot is indoors on a tripod.

Not much difference than shooting an hour of footage on 13 different days.

You should be fine.
Clean the heads with a good dry head cleaning tape before the gig.
