Hi Everyone,
I am interested in getting a new camera. I am interested in the AG-HPX300 or the HPX/170 maybe the HVX 200a. I am also interested in the Sony EX 1 and EX 2. From my research the sony cameras picture has less noise then the panasonic cameras. Panasonic has 4:2:2 color spacing. Sony says that their color spacing is just as good.
I am really interested in the AG-HPX 300. But if the Sony EX 1 and EX 3 still look better with less noise then the AG- HPX 300 then why should I get the AG-HPX 300? I understand that the AG-HPX 300 has CMOS chips. But specialist’s who use both cameras have told me that the Sony Image still has less noise.

Total matter of opinion. And are you talking about noise due to image compression which is due to the codec used? Or are you talking about noise from gain due to insufficient lighting within a shot? Because I’d argue the Panasonic cameras are better at the first and the Sony’s maybe a bit better at mitigating the second. These are very evenly matched cameras- I’d get a real demo. Also consider the workflow- P2 vs. SxS.
