i am doing a roto of a person… behind them is another shape of them with a mask on a white solid. giving the person a huge stroke look. the person is full color and the stroke is white. i tried to add a wiggle expression to the shape mask but not working. i am trying th achieve the effect like the mask was redrawn each frame. so it’s shape animation is rugged. i guess the best explanation would be that of “ed, edd, and eddie” cartoon where the outlines of the characters are always moving no matter what the character is doing. like it was redrawn every frame…. does this make sense.

Have you experiemented with the scribble effect. you can choose to have it animate every frame, I believe.

I’d experiment with the attaching a darker color layer to the mask and using Scribble with tweaks to adjust.
