I’ve used the wiggle expression quite a bit in the past in the form of “wiggle(x,y)” where x is the number of wiggles per second and y is the amount of pixels that my object can move in the horizontal and vertical directions. How can I use the wiggle expressions to only wiggle in the horizontal direction or to wiggle different amounts in the horizontal and vertical direction? Thanks in advance!

Search the COW for “wiggle” and “direction”, or “wiggle” and “axis”. This comes up a lot.

    Wiggle Y Only:

    [value[0],wiggle(1,100)[1]]

    Wiggle X Only:

    [wiggle(5,30)[0],value[1]]

    Wiggle X and Y seperately:

    [wiggle(5,30)[0],wiggle(1,100)[1]]

You can tie any of the above to sliders, highlight the “1” in the first expression and pickwhip to a slider stopwatch (after you use, Effect>Expression Controls>Slider Control, then name it “Y Frequency”), then the slider controls that number (Frequency 1st number, amplitude 2nd number).

You could try the Jiggle Script from Loop – automatically adds a wiggle in one axis/direction
