Wierd 24P problem
basicly i recorded two shots on a Nikon D5000 24P then made a composite in vegas and everything went insane! i thought it might just be an editing error so i rendered it as a test and its still messed up!

In general, video from still cameras cause problems. I would transcode the source to an edit friendly format. Users of the Canon 5D/7D have found Cineform NeoScene to be a solution to this problem. I don’t know if NeoScene works with video from the Nikon D5000 or not but they do have a trial. Otherwise you might be able to use a free program like AviDemux 2.5 to convert the files to MJPEG, Lagarith, or another intraframe codec of your choice.
