I’ve searched the forum, thought I found the answer, burned 6 DVDs with different settings, all with the incorrect results. Please help.

I have a Canon HV20, and I shoot in 16:9 HDV. I also have Vegas 8 & DVDA. I simply want my footage to fill the screen in my HD Television. Right now, it creates bars at the top and bottom, and maybe it squeezes the picture (hard for me to tell).

I capture the footage in Vegas, and for my Project Properties, I use the HDV 1080-60i template, and change the Pixel aspect ratio to 1.3333. No other changes to the template. Then I render to an MPEG2 using the DVD Architect Widescreen template (I get the same results if I use HDV 1080-60i, except I think the quality is better.)

Then I go to DVD Architect. Properties are NTSC Widescreen (720×480).

Now when I burn a DVD, I get the bars at the top and the bottom of the screen. I have tried 6 different flavors of this (changing the Properties in DVDA, Vegas, and rendering to different things. I always seem to get the same output.

Please, can someone help me? This is a project that is due Monday morning. Many thanks.

    Answered my own question:

Do not use POS DVD player as a test machine. Used my normal DVD player, and it works just fine.
