Widescreen settings in Vegas=16×9???
Sorry this if sounds really stupid but when you set up a project as Pal widescreen si the aspect ration 16×9?
Isn’t ‘widescreen’ a generic term that covers many different aspects what are wider than 4:3.
Basically,I have to submit some moving graphics/video to a local Tv station and they only except video in the 16×9 format.

The frame is still 720 x 480. Pixel aspect ratio accounts for the difference. No, submitting a PAL frame size won’t give you a widescreen view. PAR of 1.2 for NTSC widescreen is what you’ll want. It’s easy to set up in Vegas…Just start with a widescreen project, drop in media, and if you must modify anything, use pan/crop to bring the existing image to size. You *may* lose resolution in the process.

Oh Sorry – I didn’t explain fully my fault.
I’m in Ireland (Europe) and I’m editing in Pal.
Basically waht I was trying to find out is the widescreen setting in Vegas the as an aspect ration of 16:9.
My apologies for forgetting that this is mostly an American/Ntsc format forum…

then open a PAL widescreen project. If memory serves, it’s 720 x 576 w PAR of 1.45.
