Wide Angle Lens Effect
Posted by Trevor Ambrose on January 21, 2011 at 7:06 pmHey guys,
Anyone know of a good FCP Wide Angle Lens effect to make a “normal” shot realistically look like a wide angle shot. I tried fisheye but it just looked like a weird effect.
Thanks,

January 21, 2011 at 7:09 pmWell, wide-angle is not an effect, it is a field of view, to get that you have to add image around your existing frame. Don’t think we are to that point yet (but Photoshop is getting close)

January 21, 2011 at 8:14 pmOT – speaking to those AE lenses, I recently discovered that putting the lens on extreme zoom, doesn’t affect the visual compression of layers. IOW, you can take a bunch of 3D layers, move them WAAAAAAY away from the camera, then zoom the camera the appropriate amount, and it will look exactly the same. In a real camera the items would look compressed. Closer together in zspace.

January 21, 2011 at 10:09 pmYou are right Raeph, Motion has a virtual camera with lens properties you can change. This may be all he needs.
