  • Why when I use the LoopOut expression do i loose the last keyframe?

    Hi there

Ok im gonna try and explain this. Basically i have a composition of 6 seconds. there are 3 layers which last for 2 seconds each. and i wanted to loop this 6 second animation. so i precomped it and applied the loop_out(“cycle”,0) expression to it in time remapping. this is having placed the keyframe at 0 frames and last keyframe at 6 frames.

now basically what happens is, the first time it plays, it goes from 0 seconds to 6 seconds. then the following loops created are from 0 – 5 seconds. its on the first loop at 6 seconds that the screen is blank. now im just not sure what to do…do i make the composition 7 seconds…i mean how come when i am in the precomp, u cant drag the timeline to 6 seconds, only 5?

hmmm, well hopefully someone will understand what i mean!

there must be an easy way to do this!

    thanks in advance

This is just the way that AE works with timecode.

If the duration of your composition were 1;00 second at 30fps then you would have 30 frames from 0;00 to 0;29. 1;00 is outside the duration of the composition.

So for your 6;00 second comp the last frame in the comp is 5;29. Adjust your time-remaps accordingly, set the last keyframe to 5;29 (if you want to maintain real time then you should move that keyframe one frame earlier on the timeline as well).
