Why so many Library Back-Ups?
Just curious. My Library Back-Ups folder takes up a ton of space! I don’t have a huge hard drive (80GB) (I’ve filled it OFTEN!).
So … if I set the back-ups to 1, would that be a problem?
What about Zero?
Why would anyone want or need more than one back-up in the same folder? It seems pointless to me to back something up anywhere on the same drive! It’s not a proper back-up unless it is physically separated from the source drive, right?
What am I missing here?

A backup copy of each library is made whenever you modify the library. If you set it to 1 (I’m not sure it will let you set it to 0) then you’ll get a single backup of each library.
Fewer backups means more chance of losing data if something bad (or unintended) happens to the library, but it uses less space.
If you regularly make your own backup copies of libraries, then set this as low as you want.
It’s also a good idea to manually clean out your library backups folder once in a while if you modify libraries very much — this will free up a lot of drive space.
