I swear to God, when is Avid going to get into the 21st Century? I have a title in my MCA 2.1.1 sequence from another project, and of course it’s offline because I didn’t copy the title clip into my current bin. It has been promoted to 3D so I can’t use the effect editor to open the title tool. And of course it doesn’t show up under Show User Clips and I can’t matchframe it because it’s a precompute…

It’s a piece of media with a name. Avid needs to be able to backtrack anything I have on the timeline period, or at least give me a last known location so I can begin a halfway intelligent search. Or how about being able to open title media that has been promoted to 3D? Seems like a no brainer there.

Yes, I simply should have copied the title into my bin, but in many cases I’m grabbing entire chunks of old sequences with 7-15 nested tracks and I don’t have the time to be “neat” about it. Not being able to matchframe to precomputes even in the same project? Ridiculous! I know there’s a command line workaround, but I’m sick of workarounds.

Can’t you just open the sequence then do a Recreate Title Media? That should recreate your title just fine.

I think Mike’s right (again). Nothin’ too crazy about ‘Recreate Title Media’.

That happened to me years ago when i used the first time the title tool to make title.

I had like 56 titles made with title tool, and i made everything offline!!!!
    I nearly got a heartattack!!!!

You only have to select the track on timeline and then “recreate title media”.

Even when its made 3d on Avid, then you can go to effect editor and change all the properties.

    Good LUck!!!
