  • Why no color gradations on fonts?

Posted by Larry Watts on December 12, 2006 at 7:10 pm

I had hoped that by version 7 we night have color gradients for the fonts. This would be such a simple addition for those who don’t want to use a separate software.
    Will this never be offered?

    Thanks

You can already do it. Use the font as a “mask” and use a generated media to create the color gradient. Vol 2 #3 and Vol 2 #5 of my newsletters both have articles about text compositing.

    Edward,
I downloaded and read vol 2 no 3. I created a new project and I’m not getting your results. Granted the interface ahs changed since version four(I’m no 6) but I clicked on the left up arrow which says
make compositing parent. No change. I then tried make compoisiting childe also without any change.
Do I need to change the “mode”?

    Thanks

    Off Topic,
We purchased Tsunami and had a crash resulting in a whole new computer.
How do I get it back? or do I need to get excaliber?

    Thanks

Send me an e-mail and we’ll figure out what you need. Send me other details too such as the version of Vegas you’re now using.
