Why is the trimmer offsetting my timecode (it doesn’t start at 0)
Hi there,
Importing footage from a Canon 70D DSLR. For some reason, these clips have an “internal timecode”, and if I import them into the trimmer, the cursor position doesn’t start at 0. They start at around 8 or 9 minutes. It’s an easy fix for me, actually, all I had to do in order to fix the issue was right-click on the clip in project media, go to properties, and under timecode select “use custom timecode” and set to 0.
I know the solution, but I’m just curious as to why it happens in the first place. Is Vegas mistakenly reading the date stamp as timecode?

I don’t know . . . I have MOV from a Canon SX which starts at ZERO on the same Timeline as XF300 MXF footage that reflects the T/S – well? I don’t know . . .
