Why is the compressor preview always 4:3?
Posted by Josh Evans on May 21, 2008 at 12:40 pmEven when my project is 16:9

Josh,
1. Have you changed the Aspect Ratio setting under the the Encoder tab in the Inspector? Its not automatic.
2. The two very tiny buttons at the upper-most right hand side of the viewer are switches that chage the viewer. The first one show the aspect ratio of the source (or input), and if you click on the second one, it shows the aspect ratio after your chosen settings have been applied (the output).
If you click the second one and it is not showing the proper 16×9 aspect ratio, then your settings are wrong.

Thanks God, you fly on top of us. No idea that was possible. The truth is that, apart of for setting Chapter Markers, I don’t see much useful the Compressor viewer. And is easier to do that in FC.
BTW, I sent you few weeks ago a clip about “Fighting for the control of FC” . I wonder if you watched it.Mac OX 10.5.2-FC 6.02-QT 7.4.1

I did, but I got a horrible case of stomach flu last week that knocked me senseless, so I can’t remember it now. I’ll check it out again tomorrow.

But as I told you in that post, my real problem are the ants.
I will try to document it and post it. Perhaps we (you) should open a forum about “Digital Biodiversity”.Mac OX 10.5.2-FC 6.02-QT 7.4.1

But in the preview it still doesnt change to 16:9 when i click on the upper most right buttons.
