  • why is my audio track fx indicator yellow?

I have 4 effects on an audio track. The indicator (in the track properties on the left of the timeline) is green until I start playing the video, then it turns yellow.

    What does this mean?

This means that you are using a “non-in-place” plug-in (e.g., Time Stretch, Pitch-Shift, and some Vibrato settings). These effects don’t play in real-time and so Vegas has to add delay compensation to make it play in sync. The yellow indicates that delay compensation is being added to the plug-in.

Makes sense. Glad it’s not a “warning” of any sort indicating that something is “wrong”.
