    Oh…and yes…and do check what Michael said!

    Apple really should remove the option to create an HD-DVD…the format is dead and does nothing but cause confusion. It should NEVER be used. You cannot switch to SD, after the fact either. You must create a new SD DVD project.

    It has been shown in a few recent threads that VBR can cause funkiness. It happens very sporadically for me, like once a year. Detailed backgrounds start to strobe. So I try CBR. Sharper, and no stutter. Plus it renders faster.

    As others have pointed out, the VBR is for compressing longer pieces that wouldn’t otherwise fit. Or, to get a higher data when when possible, when that rate wouldn’t work at CBR.

    Kinda like web encoding.

    And who would play these Blu-Ray Discs? I don’t even have a Blu-Ray player.
