  • Why don’t my plugins work??? AE7-CS3

Upgraded my AE7 to CS3 and none of my beloved third party plugins load up/appear – when I start/use After Effects. Is this a common/known problem. Is there a fix? Anyone else had this and gotten around it?
    Thanks in advance.

go to the plugin maker’s website and downlaod the latest versions of the plugins.

if you have an intel mac, you will need to make sure the latest versions of the plugins are universal binaries (made to work on either powerpc or intel processors).

most third-party plugins have free updates ofr cs3 and/or universal binaries, some may require an upgrade purchase to a newer version of the plugin, and some may not be available yet… just check the websites.

if you are on an intel mac, and you are in a pinch you can get use of non-ub plugins by forcing cs3 to run under rosetta (it is an option in the get info window to run a ub application under rosetta). it wouldn’t be the prefered way to run ae, but you’ll get the plugins back.
