Why does Vegas not smart render MTS ( HD), files which have no added effcects/ plugins ?
I us an @sony SLR for video, which captures video in 1920 x 1080 HD format, either interlaced or PS.
Even when I want to do a simple edit, just cut out parts of video, and render without changes , ( no effects, same frame size), Vegas is panfully slow to render, seems to do about 5 frames per second,when it should be about about 50 times faster, . When I read the help section, it refers to smart render function, but it doesnt appear in the render menu…..Joseph D

The smart rendering only works for DV-AVI and MPEG2 formats as far as I know. In the case of MPEG2, you have to use the same bitrate and frame size/rate as the source for smart render to work.
