  • Why does iDVD have to re-encode for every disc?

Posted by Pierson Jacquelin on February 15, 2006 at 12:12 am

I am aware that I can burn subsequent copies once the first disc is done and I put another one in the tray, but if I choose not to burn one immediately and, say, close and re-open the project with no changes…why does it have to re-encode the disc?

Is there any way to save the Audio and Video_TS folders?

File > Save as Disc Image

For some reason it has to put it in a disc image, but once it’s built you can open the disc image and drage the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders out of there and do whatever you like with them.

Ah, yes–thanks. Too bad you can’t save just the encoded files in the archive option…
